A jaguars jaw and teeth
are so strong that they
can bite through a crocodiles
skull and a turtles shell!
Jaguars live in tropical lowlands, preferably close to some body of water since they
are very strong swimmers! The Jaguar is a top predator in the food chain so they are
very important to keep around so that stays balanced. These massive cats can grow up
to 6 feet in length and can weigh up to 348 pounds! Around 50% of jaguars are found in Brazil,
and the rest can be found in the other countries the Amazon covers like Colombia, Peru, etc.
Sadly that's about it since they have lost a lot of their habitat so their numbers are shrinking.
Many things are being done to try and help jaguars not go extinct.
For example, there is an anti-fur campaign to stop the hunting of jaguars for their fur.
