Russell Westbrook was born the year of 1988, in Long Beach, California. He grew up in South central where he learned the game of basketball from his father and began to love it. Russell Westbrook was not thought of as a very talented basketball player until his senior year at Leuzinger High School where he averaged 25 points and gained a scholarship from UCLA. Russell played 2 years at UCLA where he made it to the final four twice. In 2008 his basketball dreams came true as he entered the NBA draft and got selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
