The Phillie Phantatic is the number one mascot in the MLB. The Phillie Phanatic is a tall 300-pound mascot who is a fat, green and furry monster. The man behind the costume is Tom Burgoyne. The Phillie Phanatic gets the crowd going by dancing, making people laugh, shooting hotdogs or tshirts into the stands, and giving people the biggest hugs and kisses. He is the most recognizable of all mascots and is the rowdiest of all professional sports teams. He was also voted The Mascot Ever by Sports Illustrated for kids. Being the top crowned mascot in all professional sports, he also brings a lot of children to the baseball games and makes it entertaining for them, not just a boring baseball game. The Phillie Phanatic attends service events such as going to the Ronald McDonald House, he is often seen at Phillies charities, made a several childrens books and he also attends inner-city schools to visit the children of Philadelphia. He also appeared in the 2006 Rocky film.The Phillie Phanatic is not just a baseball mascot, he is a character that all of Philadelphia has grown up with and has loved for years.
