Fans have high hopes for an exciting season as the Lions face intense competition from NCAA division III rivals. As the BAC team embarks on this new adventure it is good to look back on the College's long and rich history of Ice Hockey. The Ice Hockey program at BAC is going in to its 51st season. The first BAC Hockey team started out by practicing on Jungé pond which is just across the street diagonally from our current freshman dorms. They switched over to practicing at more conventional rinks when a local cow wondered onto the pond on a warm day and fell through the ice and drowned. This caused some people to voice concerns about the hockey team practicing on the pond and thus ended a college tradition. As tradition is important to BAC, the hockey team tried to get the back to nature feeling of the pond with their unconventional design for the Jungé pavilion with its vaulted roof and three open sides. It is no coincidence that the pavilion is named after the Jungé family as they have been staunch supporters of BAC Hockey from the very beginning and continued their support even after the cow incident. But it is not just the Jungé family that supports our Lions. Many people from the wider Bryn Athyn community love to come and support the team. Home games are always exciting and a great way to connect with the community. Come join our Lions as they embark on this year's adventure on ice.
